Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Voltage Streaming ("Voltage", "we", "us") collects when you use watchvoltage.com and the Voltage app for iPhone (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
The short version: we collect only what we need to run your account (your name, email, profiles, My List and watch history) and, if you allow it, to send new-release alerts. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name and email address, and your password. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see or store your password in readable form.
- Profile information. The profiles you create: profile name, the picture or color you choose, and whether a profile is a Kids profile.
- Your activity. Your My List, your watch history, and which profile you last used. These are saved to your account so they stay in sync between our website and app.
- Notifications (optional). If you allow notifications, we collect a device token from Apple and Google so we can send you new film and episode alerts, and we remember whether you turned alerts on or off.
- Sign in with Google (website only). If you choose to sign in with Google on our website, Google shares your name and email address with us. The app uses email and password sign-in.
- Technical information. Like most services, our hosting provider and the Google services we use may record your IP address, device and browser type, and the time of requests. This is used to keep the Service running and secure.
- Information stored on your device. Your preferences (such as background music on or off and volume) and temporary copies of images so the app loads faster.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show third-party ads or share your information with advertisers.
- We do not use advertising trackers or analytics tools at this time. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
How we use your information
- To create and run your account and profiles.
- To save your My List and watch history and sync them across devices.
- To apply Kids profile restrictions (for example, hiding horror titles).
- To send new-release alerts, only if you have turned them on.
- To keep the Service secure, fix problems, and respond to your messages.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that help us run the Service, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Google (Firebase). Authentication, our database (Cloud Firestore) and push messaging (Cloud Messaging).
- Apple. The App Store and the Apple Push Notification service, which delivers alerts to your iPhone.
- Our hosting provider. Which serves the website, images and videos.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the Service.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, profiles, My List and watch history. You can also email us and we will delete it for you. Some technical logs kept by our providers may remain for a short time afterward.
Your choices
- Edit or remove profiles from the Who's Watching screen or Settings.
- Turn new-release alerts off in the app (Settings → Notifications) or in your iPhone's Settings.
- Turn background music off in Settings.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing Voltage@WatchVoltage.com. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. A Kids profile is a viewing setting managed by the adult account holder, not a separate child account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Your data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Google's security protections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where your information is processed
Our service providers may process information on servers in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
